Terms of service
These terms cover the Lockpin program, the website lockpin.dev and the hosted dashboard app.lockpin.dev, provided by Connor Raymer, Florida, USA ("we"). By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
What Lockpin does, and what it does not promise
Lockpin sits between your software and an AI provider and refuses a call when its estimated worst-case cost does not fit a budget you set. The estimates use prices we have built in, which may be out of date or wrong; the provider's own bill is the only authoritative figure. A call can cost more or less than Lockpin estimated, and a provider can change a price, tier or fee without notice. Lockpin is a safety aid, not a guarantee against spending. You stay responsible for your provider accounts, keys, usage and bills, and for checking budgets and alerts.
Who may use Lockpin
Lockpin is a tool for developers and businesses. You must be at least 13 to create a dashboard account, and we delete an account we learn belongs to someone younger. The hosted dashboard is offered to customers in the United States. The Pro plan may be bought by an individual; the Business plan is sold to businesses, and whoever buys it confirms they act for a business.
Your data and keys
The program runs on your machine. You are responsible for the data you send through it and for keeping your keys and the machine secure. What we receive, and when, is in the privacy policy. If you use the dashboard for a team, you are responsible for telling your team what it reports.
Dashboard accounts and workspaces
You must give a working email address and keep your sign-in details to yourself. The owner of a workspace controls who is in it and what it reports. We may suspend an account that attacks the service, uploads data it is not allowed to, or does not pay for a paid plan; we tell you first unless the law or the safety of the service does not allow it.
Plans, payment and cancellation
The program and the Individual plan are free. Pro and Business are billed in advance by Stripe at the price shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. The refund and cancellation policy says how to cancel and what is refunded. Your local spend caps are never affected by a plan change, a cancellation or a failed payment.
Software licence
The program's source code is provided under the Apache License 2.0 in the repository. If these terms and that licence disagree about the program's code, the licence wins. The hosted dashboard is a service, not licensed software.
Warranty and liability
The program, website and dashboard are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or provider charges, and our total liability for anything related to them is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for the free program and plan is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Not affiliated
Lockpin is an independent project. It is not made, endorsed or supported by any model provider. Provider and product names belong to their owners.
Changes and ending
We may change these terms or stop providing the program, site or dashboard. For a material change to the dashboard terms we give 30 days notice by email or on the dashboard. Changes apply from the date shown above. You can stop using Lockpin and ask for your data to be deleted at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled between us goes to the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we accept their jurisdiction.
